Equality in Employment -
Seminar to be held in March 2010,
taking in the implications of the New equality Bill
Venue: Manchester
Overview
The world of equality, diversity and human rights is a complex and at times conflicting one.
In the last ten years we have witnessed legal changes which a generation ago would have been unimaginable.
Yet in spite of a legal framework which has been in place for over 35 years, the UK still has significant areas of persistent inequalities and discrimination.
Equality and Diversity UK Ltd are offering a dynamic and delegate focused equality in employment course led by experienced and inspirational facilitators.
It aims to change attitudes in employment towards groups and individuals covered by equality laws by exploring what equality and diversity in employment means,
the causes of inequality, discrimination, harassment and victimisation
The workshop also aims to:
-
Encourage participants to develop their own objectives specific to their role, and thus become more confident in working
with groups and individuals covered by the equality legislation in a professional way.
-
Explore attitudes and environment i.e. what are the problems and issues faced by people covered by the equality legislation, and how can we counter these
-
Challenge myths and stereotypes about the different equality groups, using examples of current thinking about diversity
-
Help organisations comply with equality legislation through the use of lively equality debates and discussions
